Museum Staff Member’s Paper Published in an International Proceedings Volume

The proceedings of the symposium “I. Uluslararası Türk Dünyasında Kültür ve Değerlerin İzleri” (“Traces of Culture and Values in the Turkic World”), held in Baku on 29 April 2026, have been published. The event was organised by Kafkas University in Kars, Türkiye, with Khazar University serving as the host institution.

The proceedings include a paper by Fatma Ganiyeva, PhD in History and staff member of the Ethnography Scientific Fund Department of the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan, entitled “Preserving Cultural Identity in Azerbaijan in the Context of Globalisation”.

The paper examines the impact of globalisation on the national and cultural identity of Azerbaijani society and analyses approaches to its preservation in contemporary conditions. Particular attention is paid to the transformation of key components of national identity, including language, national and spiritual values, customs and traditions, folklore, music, literature, and historical and cultural heritage.

The study also highlights the role of traditional values in preserving the cultural identity of the Azerbaijani people and addresses the continuity of these values and their transmission to future generations.
