A new project “Scientific adventures time” launched in the Museum

The main purpose of the project is to show the importance of activity traditions and historical experience of museums in making cultural leisure time of children and teenagers more productive, to head children into active creativity, research and investigation.

The liberation of the territories of Azerbaijan occupied by Armenia after nearly 30 years paved the way for spiritual revival, unity and solidarity in the society. The Second Karabakh War became a matter of unity for everyone calling Azerbaijan their homeland. Anger and pessimism were replaced with hope.

We’ve dedicated the first event of our new project “Scientific adventures time” to ancient history, material, and cultural heritage of Karabakh- heaven of this irreplaceable victory.

The Head of the Department of Popular-Scientific Work and Education of the ANAS National Museum of History of Azerbaijan Farida Shamsi declared the event open. During her speech, she noted that 2020 had been included a year of Victory in the history of Azerbaijan. As a result of Patriotic War, Karabakh, which had been under the occupation of the enemy for more than 30 years, had been liberated with the strong will of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev and at the cost of our martyrs’ blood. There is rich cultural and archaeological heritage in the Karabakh region. Numerous showpieces concerning Karabakh are preserved in the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan and some of them are exhibited in the exposition of the Museum. We’ve commenced our new project this year. The first meeting of our project is dedicated to archaeological monuments of Karabakh. The initiator and organizer of the project is the employee of the Department of Popular-Scientific Work and Education of the Museum Ganira Gafarli.

The Head of the Archaeology - Scientific Fund Department of the Museum, PhD in History Nasir Guluzade delivered a lecture with a slide presentation called “Material, cultural heritage of ancient period of Karabakh in museum archaeology (in the example of the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan)” in the first event of the project. Since the day of functioning till now, the National Museum of Hsitory of Azerbaijan has placed great importance on researching and preserving as well as promoting the material, cultural heritage of Azerbaijan. In this respect, ancient and rich culture of Karabakh, which has been liberated from Armenian occupation by our glorious army, is no exception. The Museum has always paid special attention to material including archaeological heritage of Karabakh. The lecture “Material, cultural heritage of ancient period of Karabakh in museum archaeology (in the example of the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan)” is about the archaeological researches conducted by the Museum in the Karabakh region and publicization of the consequences of these researches. Thus, the Head of the Archaeology - Scientific Fund Department of the Museum, PhD in History Nasir Guluzade talked about the researches carried out in Stone Age monuments of Azerbaijan Azikh and Taghlar and Ismailtepe monument beloning to early farmer and cattle-breeder tribes during his slide-lecture. Moreover, the lecture has illuminated the material examples discovered in those and other monuments of Karabakh. The issues of preserving those findings in appropriate collections of the Museum, restorating and exhibiting them were also summarized and presented concretely in the course of the lecture.

Then, history teacher of the secondary school number 29 in Zangilan region Gunay Ibrahimova, history teacher of the secondary school number 1 in Fuzuli region Aytan Aliyeva, history teacher of the secondary school in Galinchaq village of Ismailli region Orkhan Ahmadov delivered speeches and expressed their gratitude.

Pupils of the secondary school number 29 in Zangilan region, history teacher Mashati Aliyeva and pupils of the secondary school number 5 in Ismailli region, history teacher Jala Gurbanova and pupils of the secondary school number 128 in Sabunch district, pupils of the secondary school number 1 in Fuzuli region, history teacher Ulviyya Karamova and pupils of the secondary school number 141 in Surakhani district, pupils of the secondary school in Galinchaq village of Ismailli region, history teacher Ulviyya Nazarova and pupils of the secondary school in Bash Dashaghil village of Oghuz region, history teacher Bakhtiyar Eyvazov and pupils of the secondary school in Shumrud village of Astara region, history teacher Elgun Aliyeva and pupils of the secondary school number 5 in Ismailli town, pupils of the secondary school number 3 in Khudat town of Khachmaz region have attended the event.
