ANAS National Museum of history of Azerbaijan held the presentation of the book titled “Nakhchivan flags” (Baku, 2015) on November 6, 2015. The author is employee of the museum, PhD in history Parvin Gozalov.

Speaking at the event the museum's Director, Academician Naila Velikhanli told about the significance of the publication, which is a valuable contribution to the country's history.

N.Velikhanli gave information about the work carried out in the museum in the field of research the history of the symbols of statehood of Azerbaijan. Noted that, in the book of "Symbols of Azerbaijan statehood" and in the catalog of "Azerbaijan flag" were firstly reflected materials that stored in the museum, which demonstrate the antiquity and the richness of the historical traditions of statehood.

Author P.Gezalov spoke about his research achievements and scientific results.

Further, was presented information about the book "Nakhchivan Flags".

Book gives information on newly discovered state and battle flags of Nakhchivan khanate, which existed in the XVIII - early XIX century. Flags discovered through research conducted by the author in various museums of the Russian Federation have enriched the history Azerbaijan statehood by new facts.

In the book with accompanying illustrations it is told about history of the flags found in the State Hermitage in St. Petersburg.

Edition also describes the history of the study of statehood symbols at the Azerbaijan National History Museum, 12 Khans’ flags taking place in the museum's collection, including military flags of military units formed in Nakhchivan, belonged to the army of the Russian Empire.

Vice-President of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbeyli spoke about the importance of symbols of Azerbaijan statehood history and study the history of the statehood symbols.

Noted that, in recent years was realized a very important events in the field of promotion and statehood symbols of Nakhchivan Khanate, one of the glorious pages of the history of Azerbaijan.

Academician I.Habibbeyli expressed confidence that the book "Nakhchivan Flags" will play an important role in promoting the flags.
