As a result of research conducted in the foundation of banners Military Historical Museum of Artillery, Engineers and Communication Forces by employee of the National Museum of Azerbaijan History, PhD in history Parvin Gozalov, who is on a business trip in St. Petersburg, Russia, was found a new unknown flag, which belonged to the Nakhchivan khanate of Azerbaijan.
Found third flag of the Nakhchivan Khanate was confiscated during the occupation of the Khanate by the Russian troops in 1827 and was sent to St. Petersburg by order of General I.Paskevich.
This flag is stored in the foundation the Military Historical Museum of Artillery, Engineers and Communication Forces, called "Muslim flag of XVIII-XIX centuries".
The third flag of the Nakhchivan Khanate has a rectangular shape.
The flag panel, which width is 92 cm and length is 192 cm, consists of the green and red strips sewed to each other in a horizontal form. On the green flag is attached strip from red cloth embroidered with eight-pointed star, reminiscent of the symbolic image of the sun.
On the flagstaff made by a pine tree was attached the iron tip in the form of a spear.
