National dress sample included in the collection of National Museum of Azerbaijan History
ANAS National Museum of Azerbaijan History was included a national dress sample – chukha (Caucasian coat).
Newly included in the collection of this entity - chukha (kulaja) is of very valuable historical and artistic importance. Chukha, dated back the midst of XiX century was sewed of red cloth material and decorated with embroidery method on its collar, sleeve and sole. Over were written the year 1275 Hijri date and words "Mashallah, mubarak bakhshat".
Note that, dresses occupy a very important place in the material culture of Azerbaijan. Historically, there was a rich assortment of dresses, by improving it has reached up modern era. Today, leaving the fashion arena and shifting into museum exhibits, dresses play a vital role in study of nation's cultural heritage, outlooks, taste, meanwhile, its ethnogeny.
