National Museum of Azerbaijan History acquired new exhibits relating to ancient times

National History Azerbaijan Museum acquired new exhibits relating to ancient times.

Ancient artifacts were found by the head of an international archaeological expedition Shamkir-Garajamirly, Professor I.Babaev during archaeological excavations.

Archaeological excavations in territory of of Shamkir region, Garajamirly were held jointly with archaeologists from Germany.

As a result of archaeological excavations have been discovered the ruins of the great public buildings belonging to the Achaemenid period (V-IV century BC). Most of the archaeological finds was gathered from the tombs belonging to the late Bronze Age - Early Iron Age.

These findings (pottery, bronze weapons, adornments, etc.) were transferred to the Fund of Archaeology National Museum of History of Azerbaijan.

These include - cup-shaped pottery, vase, churn, a bank, a cup, Aquarius, the water storage jar, earthenware bowl oval bronze ring, a bronze dagger small size. Antique items are important in the study and promotion of the history of the ancient period of Azerbaijan.
