Art patterns devoted to Shah Ismayil I to be exhibited

“Shah Ismayil I – commander and the ruler” exhibition, which to be opened at Azerbaijan National History Museum will demonstrate handmade of artists, sculptures of Azerbaijan and Turkish in addition to almost 130 historical exhibits.


Two works by the Turkish master-artist Efe Unchu will be shown for the first time. One of them is a tile plate designed on topic of "The battle of Chaldiran”. A scene from Battle of Chaldiran was designed on a plate with medieval Ottoman miniatures.

E.Unchu’s second art piece is called "Writing in style of Halij”. On a tile plate, master-artist has elaborated writing style of halij, which spread during the Ottoman Empire in medieval ages and having not only artistic, but also philosophical meaning.

The exhibition also will demonstrate seven waxworks of exhibits related to the era of Shah Ismayil and stored in the world’s museums, including 100 photographs.

Note that, the souvenir figure "XVI century Safavid warrior" raises a special interest. Figure which has been donated by President Ilham Aliyev to the Azerbaijan National History Museum was designed pretty accurate, and reflects weapons and equipments of Azerbaijan warrior as they are. The figure is featured on the podium, rotating around its own axis.

Meanwhile exhibition presents “Alti gizilbash” work authored and designed by the young sculptor Islam Hasanalizadeh in modern style, small sculptures "The battle between Shah Ismayil and Ali Malkuchoglu”, as well as “The battle of Chaldiran” work painted by artist Seyran Imanov in medieval Tabriz miniature style.
