Restored garments of the Azerbaijani military units, safeguarding Russian emperors

Biographies, military garments and guns of personal staff of Azerbaijan military units, safeguarding (convoy) Russian emperors in 1838-1881, have been defined by efforts of scientists.

Thus, studies of Dmitri Klochkov, an expert of the working group for Military-historical reconstruction, study and protection of motherland history, attached to Culture Ministry of the Russian Federation, proved that, garments, food and religious rituals at the Azerbaijani military units have been organized on national base. He analyzed the structural parts of convoy, including creation consequences of Azerbaijani platoons, their features and activities relying on documents kept in Russian archives.

In addition, other distinguished researcher, corresponding member of International Genealogical Academy Eldar Ismailov could determine data about Azerbaijanis of convoy, their battle ways in more detail.

During the investigation it was revealed that, a significant part of ongoing Azerbaijanis continued their education at the military schools. Four of them rose to the rank of general; Major Aligambar Vazirov was awarded 4th degree of the highest military award - "Mg. Georgi Order" in 1856 for heroism in the empire.

As a result of reforms carried out in the empire in 1881, in spite of kazaks at the emperor convoy, other military units have been abolished.

Chief department of National Museum of Azerbaijan History, Ph.D. in History Sabuhi Ahmadov has restored and reconstructed the military garments and guns of our fellows, who served at the convoy. During removal process, all historical features were remained.

Note that, ongoing military garments will be demonstrated at the exhibition “Let’s study our military history!” to be organized at the museum on June 21-23, 2017.
