National Museum of History of Azerbaijan has issued a new book-catalogue “Karabakh carpets”.

Scientific editor of the book is director of the museum acad. Nailya Valikhanli and author of  the  book is the head of  Ethnography fund of the museum PhD Gulzadeh Abdulova.

Introduction of the catalogue deals with the history of Karabakh carpets.

In addition, in the catalogue under chapter which is named “Dyeing of wool thread with traditional method in Karabakh”  informs about little known facts on dying methods.

It should be noted, analyzes  of stain structure of  the reviewed carpets have been implemented at the expense of the Turkish Cultural Foundation by Marmara University Faculty of Pharmacy Professor Dr. Radjab Karadag and Professor Dr. Turkan Yurd.

In the catalogue is described    museum collection which contains nearly 150 Karabakh carpets and carpet products including (carpet-bags, saddlebags, mashrafs) and etc.

Besides colored photograph of exhibit, its knit term, size, staining characteristics, date of entry to the museum are demonstrated as well.
