Studies confirm that the Shirvan region, as one of the ancient cultural centers of Azerbaijan, has entered a high stage of development since the early Bronze Age, and the growing economic and political relations have led to social stratification, as well as the formation and development of the state.  

All these development processes are reflected in the material cultural monuments discovered as a result of archeological research.
