The first stamp of Baku University
The first stamp of Baku University

In 1932, Taghi Shahbazi, the first Azerbaijani rector of Baku State University, presented the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan with the University’s stamp. The surface of this bronze-made round artefact is decorated with symbols of the crescent, the eight-pointed star, and the title “Bakı Dövlət Darülfünunu” (Baku State University) written in the old alphabet. The same title, but in Russian language, is embossed on the stamp’s margins.
