Silk fabric with silver embroidering
Different types of patterned silk fabrics that are kept in the Ethnographic Fund of the Museum, demonstrate how highly developed the silkworm breeding was in the XVI century cities of Azerbaijan. One of the most attractive examples is the presented silk fabric which is embroidered with silver threads and enriched by beautiful decorations. Light brown background of the fabric is decorated with multi-colour floral ornaments, figures of parrots sitting in leafy trees, flying butterflies, flowers and pollinizing bees. Having the dimensions of 17x14 cm, the fabric is distinguished with elegant artistic design and harmony of colours.
