National Museum of Azerbaijan History hosted an event dedicated to the victims of repression

On May 18, at the National Museum of Azerbaijan History of ANAS, with the joint organizational support of this structure and the House - Museum of Huseyn Javid, an event was held on the theme "Repression in 1920-1950".


 

Opening the event Director of the National Museum of Azerbaijan History, Acad. Naila Velikhanli spoke about the importance of an in-depth study our history.

Then the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Republic of Azerbaijan (Ombudsman), Elmira Suleymanova, spoke about the important role of museums in the modern period, emphasized the importance of the activities of the National Museum of Azerbaijan History, including studies conducted in this scientific institution.

Then the Ph.D in History Rafig Ismayilov presented a report on the theme "Scientists subjected to repression in 1930-1953".

The event featured a short film prepared by the House-Museum of Huseyn Javid. Also, were sounded songs composed by the son of a prominent poet and playwright Huseyn Javid, the talented composer Ertugrul Javid.
