April 15 marks the 151st anniversary of the birth of prominent Azerbaijani writer and statesman Nariman Narimanov.
As a famous writer, playwright, publicist and educator, Nariman Narimanov played a great role in enriching Azerbaijani literature with advanced ideas and democratic ideas. His works, which touch upon the important issues of the time and call for enlightenment and cultural progress, are dominated by a deep humanistic spirit. Nariman Narimanov's dramaturgy has made valuable contributions to the development of Azerbaijani theater. He is a patriotic writer who has a special place in the history of national prose, as well as the author of serious and relevant examples of journalism.
Documentary sources, Gifts and souvenirs funds of the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan of ANAS preserve stationery (Inv.396), newspapers, magazines and a number of photo materials belonging to public figure Nariman Narimanov.
September 18 marks the birth of two prominent figures in Azerbaijan’s musical culture — Uzeyir Abdulhuseyn oglu Hajibeyli and Muslim Muhammed oglu Magomayev. Through their creative work and multifaceted activities, both made a significant contribution to the formation and development of professional music in Azerbaijan.
The memory of Yasen Ahmadov is also preserved at the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan.

On September 1, marking the anniversary of the death of the renowned philanthropist and entrepreneur Haji Zeynalabdin Tagiyev (1838–1924), staff of the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan visited his grave in Mardakan.
