On February 15, 2013 ANAS National Azerbaijan History Museum celebrated one of the mediaeval history researchers of Azerbaijan as well as Nakchivan Rauf Mammadov’s (1932-1988) 80th jubilee. In advance, event attendees were familiar with stand on topic “Rauf Mammadov’s life and creativity”, books, booklet and brochures, paper collection
and medals. Opening the event director of the museum, acad. Naila Valikhali gave detailed information about scholar’s performance and highlighted his works in the direction of national history promotion. Later on, deputy director of the museum, Dr. History Nargiz Aliyeva delivered lecture on “Rauf Mammadov’s academic creativity”, scientific worker of Institute of History, Ethnography and Archaeology of Nakhchivan Department Ilhami Aliyev on " Investigation the matter of Nakhchivan history during Safavid period in the Rauf Mammadov’s studies”, head of the Science-fund department of ANAS Azerbaijan National History Museum, PhD in History Nasir Guluzadeh on “Rauf Mammadov’s archaeological activity”, director assistant of ANAS Institute of History named after A.Bakikhanov, , professor Jabi Bahramov on “Tireless researcher of Azerbaijan history”. Then, Rauf Mammadov’s friends – corresponding member of ANAS Ilyas Babayev, Dr. History Ali Rajabli, scholar’s wife, PhD in history Shukufe Mammadova, chief department of ANAS Institute of History named after A.Bakikhanov, Dr. History, prof. Shahin Farzaliyev, chief of The newest history department of ANAS Azerbaijan National History Museum, PhD in history Zarifa Dulayeva shared their memories of him. Associate of Permanent Representation of Nakhchivan to Baku, PhD in Philology Bakhtiar Asgarov informed on Nakhchivan subject coverage in scientific researches by Rauf Mammadov. On behalf of family members Sh.Mammadova expressed his appreciation to the staff of ANAS Azerbaijan National History Museum for management of the workshop organization devoted to Rauf Mammadov’s memory, speakers and guests for their participation in the event, including guests coming from Nakhchivan as well.
