Chairman of the Istanbul Azerbaijan Cultural House Hikmet Elp presented Academician Nailya Velikhanli, Director of the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan, with a plaque of appreciation.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the development of academic and cultural ties between Azerbaijan and Türkiye. The importance of cooperation between museums and cultural institutions in the preservation, study and promotion of the historical and cultural heritage of the two countries was emphasized.
Hikmet Elp highlighted the activities of the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan in the field of scholarly research, preservation and presentation of Azerbaijan’s historical and cultural heritage, as well as the significance of the Museum’s research and educational activities. Particular attention was drawn to the Museum’s work under the leadership of Academician Nailya Velikhanli and her contribution to the development of museum studies and historical scholarship.

In turn, Academician Nailya Velikhanli expressed her gratitude for the gesture and emphasized the importance of further strengthening professional and cultural ties between relevant institutions in Azerbaijan and Türkiye. It was noted that the longstanding historical and cultural ties between the two countries provide a solid foundation for the implementation of joint initiatives aimed at the study, preservation and promotion of their shared cultural heritage.
