A delegation led by Vice-Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament Jan Hamacek has visited the National Museum of Azerbaijani History.
The delegation was informed on the history of the museum. The museum was built in 1895 and it was the residence of famous entrepreneur and philanthropist Haji Zeynalabdin Tagiyev. The building began its activity as a museum in 1920. They viewed the displays concerning Albania, Atropatene and Shirvanshah, historical states in present-day Azerbaijan. The museum functions as scientific research and cultural-enlightenment institution under the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS). About 300 thousand patterns immortalizing the history of Azerbaijani nation were gathered in various funds of the museum. The delegation also familiarized themselves with exhibits of the Memorial House-Museum of Haji Zeynalabdin Tagiyev. The museum was major repaired by the decree of Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev in 2004-2007.
