The exhibition “If I have an army, I have a country!” has been opened in the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan today. The exhibition was dedicated to the 100 th anniversary of the formation of National Army of Azerbaijan. Unique materials reflecting glorious pages of our military history, including some of the exhibits are displayed in the exhibition for the first time. The event has been attended by the Director of the Museum, Academician Naila Valikhanli, Professor of the Adjuncture and Science Department of the War College of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Doctor of Historical Sciences Mehman Suleymanov, Professor of the Adjuncture and Science Department of the War College of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Doctor of Historical Sciences Nurulla Aliyev, individual collector Yusif Baghirzada, the Museum employees, mass media representatives. The Director of the Museum, Academician Naila Valikhanli greeted the guests, making an opening speech. During her speech, she spoke of the creation of Azerbaijani Army during the period of ADR in 1918, our territorial integrity, the history of our Army and its struggle against occupants. Moreover, the director emphasized the importance of unique exhibits in the Museum reflecting glorious history of Azerbaijani Army in regard of educating the youth in the spirit of patriotism. Then, the attendees delivered speeches on various themes: Doctor of Historical Sciences Mehman Suleymanov “26 June- Day of formation of Azerbaijani Army”, Doctor of Historical Sciences Nurulla Aliyev “The importance of studying military history of Azerbaijan”, Head of the Archaeological Department of the Museum, PhD in History, Associate Professor Nasir Guluzada “New publication of the Museum- the book-album “Ancient weapons of Azerbaijan”, Deputy Director for Scientific-Fund Affairs and Chief Warden of the Museum PhD in History, Associate Professor Mahfuza Zeynalova “New publication of the Museum- the paintings album “Army of Azerbaijan (1918-1920)”, Restorer-artist of Restoration laboratory of the Museum Ajdar Gafarov “Warrior paintings displayed at the exhibition- reconstruction of historical military uniforms”, Head of the Department of Scientific Exposition and Organization of Exhibition of the Museum, PhD in History, Associate Professor Sabuhi Ahmadov “New publication of the Museum- the collection “Three postcards on the history of military uniform in Azerbaijan”, individual collector Yusif Baghirzada “The sword of Prince Abbas Mirza Qajar”. The book-album “Ancient weapons of Azerbaijan” on the basis of materials of the Fund of Archaeology of the NMHA” (Baku, 2018) newly published by the Museum on the occasion of the 100 th anniversary of the formation of National Army of Azerbaijan was presented to the public. Nasir Guluzada, authors of the text PhD in History Sabuhi Ahmadov, Junior Research Associates Emin Mammadov and Nurangiz Garayeva. Letters of thanks were presented on behalf of the Museum to those assisted in studying military history of Azerbaijan and organizing the exhibition. At the end, the exhibition was visited. The exhibition will be on display until 25 December 2018.
