Official meeting was held with Ambassador Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary of Mongolia to our country Bold Ravdan at the ANAS National Museum of History of Azerbaijan.
The main purpose of the meeting was to officially present a replica of “Mongol” dressing gown concerning the 13th century preserved at the Museum to Ambassador Bold Ravdan and to expand international relations between Mongolia and Azerbaijan. The meeting was attended by General Director, Academician Naila Valikhanli, Deputy Director for Scientific Affairs, Doctor of Sciences in History Nargiz Aliyeva, Deputy Director, PhD in History, Associate Professor Mahfuza Zeynalova, Scientific Secretary, PhD in History, Associate Professor Farhad Jabbarov, Head of Department of International Relations Emin Dadashov, advisor to Ambassador Namkhaibat Cherengombo, consulate employee Faig Agayev and designer of the replica of “Mongol” dressing gown, specialist in national clothes Leyla Aliyeva. Opening the meeting, Academician N.Valikhanli spoke about international relations of the Museum, exhibitions held abroad and the Museum collection. N. Valikhanli gave detailed information on the collection of “mongol” period preserved at the Museum. She mentioned that in the Funds of the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan, there are kept silver dirhams with horseman description and inscriptions in Turkish and Arabic-Uyghur alphabet minted in Azerbaijani cities (Tabriz, Baku, Barda, Beylagan, Ardabil, Ganja, Nakhchivan, Maragha, Gabala, Shamakhi and others), various weapons, military equipment, household goods, etc. relating to the period conditionally called “mongol” in historical literature.
Later, Ambassador Bold Ravdan talked about cultural relations and cooperation of Mongolia with Azerbaijan. The Ambassador also gave information on long term, close cooperation between Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) and Mongolian Academy of Sciences (MAS), and joint projects reflecting history and culture of both Azerbaijan and Mongolia.
Moreover, new projects, scientific events that would be organized by both institutions, organizations of exhibitions together with Mongolian museums, conducting scientific researches and cooperation prospects in this direction were discussed during the meeting.
At the end of the meeting the replica of “Mongol” dressing gown was presented to B.Ravdan. The Ambassador expressed his gratitude to the Museum directorate for making it and particularly emphasized that “Mongol” dressing gown would be exhibited at Chingiz khan Museum (Mongolia, Ulan-Bator city) which is considered to be opened this year.
