The ceremony dedicated to September 27- the Day of Remembrance was held at the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan of ANAS on September 24. After the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the participants of the event observed a minute of silence in memory of our compatriots who died for the freedom and territorial integrity of our country.
The executive director of the museum PhD in History Farhad Jabbarov declared the ceremony open and talked about the place and role of the Patriotic War in the modern history of Azerbaijan. He noted that participants of the 44-day war were also taking part in today's ceremony.
Welcoming the veterans of the Great Patriotic War, General Director of the Museum, Academician Naila Valikhanli said that our people are always indebted and grateful to them. Talking about the work done by the National History Museum of Azerbaijan to perpetuate the history of the Great Patriotic War, N. Valikhanli said that the Patriotic War Fund was established in the museum in the beginning of 2021, and an exhibition reflecting the history of the 44-day war was opened for the first time in the country.
Then the veterans- reservist lieutenant colonel Vugar Yadigarov, reservist captain Taleh Aliyev, captain Anar Mammadov, sergeant Elgiz Mehdiyev talked about the fighting way, the unparalleled bravery and heroism of our army during the battles.
In the end, the veterans got acquainted with the exhibition “Anadır arzulara hər zaman Garabagh” (“Mother is always Karabakh to dreams”) organized at the Museum.
