The headstone belonging to Gubali Fatali Khan of the late 18th century, stored in the archaeological fund of the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan, was sent to the restoration laboratory of the museum due to the need for restoration. It should be noted that Fatali Khan, who died on March 22, 1789 at the age of 54, was buried in the courtyard of the Bibiheybat mosque in Baku. In the 30s of the 20th century, the headstone of Fatali Khan of this mosque was transferred to the Museum of History of Azerbaijan. Currently, restoration and conservation work is being carried out on the specified headstone made of onyx stone. Before the restoration, the remaining paint on it was preserved using Polaroid material, and the remains of turquoise, purple, and gold paint on the stone were revealed in a clearer form. The stains on the exhibit were cleaned with special substances - chemical and mechanical methods, and the stone was returned to its natural color.
Conservation and restoration work on the exhibit is being carried out by museum restoration artist Ibrahim Gadzhiev. It should be noted that after restoration, this exhibit will be presented in the newly created exhibition of the museum.
