Staff Members of the Museum Participated in the International Scientific Symposium Held in Atyrau, Kazakhstan
An international scientific symposium titled “Sarayshyk- The Crossroads of East and West: History and Culture of the Great Steppe” was held in Atyrau, Kazakhstan. Employees of the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan participated in the event- Zumrud Ismayilova, Head of the International Relations and Public Affairs Department, delivered a presentation on “The Role of Museums in the Development of Cultural Tourism: The Activities of the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan,” and Nuridə Huseynova, restorer-artist of the Restoration Laboratory, presented the topic “Conservation and Restoration of Archaeological Material: Treatment of a Boot Discovered in the Burial of a Mongol Warrior (Late 13th- Early 14th Century, Bozdag Valley, Mingachevir, 3rd Settlement).” In her presentation, Z. Ismayilova spoke about the overall activities of the museum and its international projects. She also highlighted the organization process of the highly resonant exhibition “Heritage of the Great Steppe: The Golden Man,” held at our museum in 2018, emphasizing its significant role in strengthening cultural diplomacy between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan (accompanied by a video presentation). N. Huseynova provided detailed information on the methods of conservation and restoration of organic materials, the preservation of original stitching structures, and ensuring safe and aesthetically informative display (accompanied by photographs). Additionally, Z. Ismayilova gave interviews to various cultural TV channels, emphasizing the importance and impact of the symposium. At the conclusion of the event, all participants were awarded international certificates.
