On January 1, 2027, Azerbaijan will mark the 130th anniversary of the birth of Aziz Mammadkarim oghlu Aliyev (1897–1962), an outstanding statesman who made a significant contribution to the development of healthcare and science in Azerbaijan.  According to the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated August 20, 2026, the 130th anniversary of Aziz Aliyev will be celebrated at the state level. 

Ahead of this significant anniversary, a book entitled “Aziz Aliyev: Aziz Aliyev: prominent statesman and scientist” by Farhad Jabbarov, Doctor of Historical Sciences and Deputy Director for Research at the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan, has been published.

The book explores the rich life and career of Aziz Aliyev, as well as his multifaceted activities in government and science. The publication is accompanied by photographs and documentary materials from museum and archival collections, as well as from the family archive.

Intended for a wide readership, the book has been published in Azerbaijani, Russian, and English.
