Zulfugar Ismi oglu Gubatov was born on September 25, 1975, in the village of Dilman, Agsu District.
During the Patriotic War, which began on September 27, 2020, Zulfugar Gubatov took part in combat operations in the Tartar-Aghdara direction. He was killed in the fighting for Sugovushan on October 13 and was buried in the village of Dilman, Agsu District.
Posthumously, he was awarded the Order “For Valour”, 3rd Class (2021), as well as the medals “For the Motherland” (2020), “For Distinction in Battle” (2020), and “For the Liberation of Sugovushan” (2021).
The Patriotic War Fund of the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan preserves personal items belonging to Zulfugar Gubatov, a captain of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan and a martyr of the Patriotic War, including a sleeve insignia, field cap, captain’s shoulder boards, identification tag, military belt, photographs and documents.
Information about Zulfugar Gubatov is also included in the catalogue Heroes of the Great Victory, published by the museum in 2025 (Baku, Aspoliqraf, 2025, 240 pp.).
September 18 marks the birth of two prominent figures in Azerbaijan’s musical culture — Uzeyir Abdulhuseyn oglu Hajibeyli and Muslim Muhammed oglu Magomayev. Through their creative work and multifaceted activities, both made a significant contribution to the formation and development of professional music in Azerbaijan.
The memory of Yasen Ahmadov is also preserved at the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan.
The events of September 1918 are also reflected in the military decorations, archaeological finds, and other material objects preserved in the collections of the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan.
On September 9, 2026, a specialty exam was held at the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan for applicants seeking admission to the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program.
On September 1, marking the anniversary of the death of the renowned philanthropist and entrepreneur Haji Zeynalabdin Tagiyev (1838–1924), staff of the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan visited his grave in Mardakan.
