The Scientific Secretary of the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan, PhD in History, Associate Professor Sevinj Nasirova participated in the IV Global Museum Directors Forum organized by the National Museum of China, held in Beijing, People’s Republic of China, from June 9–12, 2026.
At the panel session titled “Education Empowerment: Cultivating Global Citizens and Future Dialogists” S. Nasirova presented on the topic “From Preserving the Past to Shaping the Future: Museum Education and Global Citizenship at the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan.”
During her speech, S. Nasirova emphasized that museums do not only serve the function of preserving and exhibiting cultural heritage, but also play an important role in educating society, promoting intercultural dialogue, and shaping values of global citizenship. She provided detailed information about educational and outreach projects implemented at the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan, interactive programs for schoolchildren and youth, master classes, lectures, inclusive activities, and innovative initiatives covering various age groups.
The presentation was met with great interest by the forum participants. The forum proceedings have been published.
