Women’s council of Museum holds event “My son is a hero”

With the purpose of always remembering the participants of Patriotic War, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed an Order on commemorating September 27 as the Day of Remembrance every year. In accordance with the plan of events, the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan has organized the exhibition “Karabakh is always mother to dreams!” (“Anadir arzulara her zaman Qarabagh!”). Today, one of these kinds of events has been held by Women’s council of the Museum. Veterans and martyrs of the Patriotic War including martyrs- Elfag Naghiyev and Elvin Novruzov were remembered at the event “My son is a hero”. The event attendees commemorated the memory of our compatriots who were martyred for the sake of liberty and integrity of our country with a moment of silence.

Moreover, Aytekin Naghiyeva and Gulshen Novruzova, mothers of those martyrs who raised our brave sons and saw them off to protect holy motherland, were invited to the event. Declaring the event open, the head of Women’s council of the Museum Doctor of Historical Sciences Nargiz Aliyeva greeted the attendees. After her speech on the importance of the 44-day Patriotic War, martyrs’ mothers were given the floor. Later the members of Women’s council Esmira Rahimova and Sahiba Alakbarova who had brought martyrs’ materials to the Museum made a speech. Scientific employee Aygun Guliyeva who gathered materials of martyr Elvin Novruzov for the Museum spoke about his fighting way. The next speeches were delivered by scientific employee of the Department of Scientific Research and Presentation of History of Azerbaijan Laman Musayeva and the head of the Fund of Patriotic War Shafa Movsumov.
