An interactive thematic tour was held at the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan for students of Secondary School No. 296 in Sabunchu District as part of the activities commemorating 27 September, Remembrance Day. The programme was organised by the Museum’s Department of Innovation and Educational Programmes.
The tour was conducted by Ganira Gafarli, Chief Specialist of the Department of Innovation and Educational Programmes.
The first part of the tour took place at the Memorial Museum of Haji Zeynalabdin Taghiyev. The students explored the museum’s exhibition and learned about the life and activities of the prominent philanthropist and entrepreneur. This was followed by an interactive session conducted by Farida Shamsi, Head of the Department of Innovation and Educational Programmes, Chief Specialist Ganira Gafarli and department staff member Kubra Dadashova. Using a touchscreen, the students completed thematic test exercises to assess the knowledge they had gained during the tour.
The next part of the programme included a thematic tour of the museum’s exhibition hall dedicated to the 44-day Patriotic War. The hall displays materials related to the history of the war, personal belongings of the martyrs, as well as other historical materials. During the tour, the students learned about the main events of the Patriotic War and its historical significance through the materials presented in the exhibition.
As part of the programme, the students also visited the Patriotic War Collection of the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan for the first time. Shafa Movsumov, Head of the Collection, provided information about its establishment and activities, as well as the personal belongings of the martyrs, documents and other historical materials preserved in the collection.
The tour concluded with an interactive quiz based on the exhibition dedicated to the Patriotic War. The quiz questions helped reinforce the knowledge acquired during the tour and encouraged the students’ active participation in the educational programme.
The students then explored the main exhibition of the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan and learned about examples of the country’s historical and cultural heritage preserved in the museum.
The interactive thematic tour commemorating Remembrance Day provided students with an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the history of the Patriotic War through museum collections and materials, while also contributing to the strengthening of historical memory and respect for the memory of the martyrs.
